RETRACING LOST FOOTSTEPS Composed by Peris N. Wamutitu

I retrace the footsteps of my life,
that ate back many years,
some seem to have faded,
some cannot be seen at all,
a life ridden with conflict,
fear, anger, mixed feelings, bitterness,
finding the point which the clock stopped ticking,
where time seemed to stand still,
not for a second, not for a minute, not for an hour,
but for almost tow and a half decades,
two decades of retrogression,
of a life revolving around one point,
one issue that never seemed to go away,
one that tore an innocent life apart,
and that disoriented a meager soul,
an issue that brought teard, anger,
bitterness, discomfort, discontentment,
and an endless list of disturbing and unfortunate incidents,
an issue that made the clock stop ticking,
and brought time to a complete standstill for over two decades,
retracing the steps has not been easy,
its been long and hardand full of barriers,
that have been hard to surmount,
others almost impossible to surmount,
has led to broken relationships and,
disintegration of ties that would otherwise bind,
footsteps that had to be retraced by the shedding of tears,
and and indefinite cold war, a war that never seemed to end,
retracing the footsteps of a life once almost destroyed,
by anger and raging bitterness that exploded in the soul,
leading to a raging inferno of mistrust, agony and hate,
retracing the footsteps of a life that once had lost,
hope of joy and satisfaction but that now,
lives to a new dawn, a new life, a new future.
